Mission work can open your eyes. A charitable mission does not necessarily have to be a religious trip, although many mission trips are sponsored by churches and other places of worship. Mission trips involve traveling to another location in order to do some sort of charitable work, whether it's rebuilding a school damaged in a storm or constructing a children's hospital. The location might just be a couple of cities over or another country entirely, but the main point is to help a community that can't help itself.
